Summer 2017

The Ballard Boys & Girls Club offers an exciting summer program for middle school youth looking to meet new people, take fun trips and be active. This summer will be packed with games, water slides, hikes, beach trips and more! Our Challenger and Explorer camps offer our 6th-8th grade youth the opportunity to participate in age-appropriate activities in a fun, safe and supervised atmosphere.

Registration Process:​​

Step 1. Contact us to determine availability, either by phone (206.783.5775) or email (Kara Spoelstra).​

Step 2. Fill out Summer Registration Packet​​​. Forms must be completed to reserve a spot in the summer program:

  • ​Summer Contract Form (Required)
  • Emergency Information Form (Required)
  • Sunscreen Authorization Form (Required: Sign one of the three forms depending on your preference)
  • Seattle Public Schools Consent Form (Optional)
  • ​​Authorization for ​Direct Withdrawal (​Optional)

Step 3. Once your enrollment is confirmed, sign up for a Boys & Girls Club membership.

 
Tuition:​​

Weekly Rate - $230/week  

  • ​Week of June 27 - 30th: $185
  • Week of July 5 - 7: $150
  • Wild Waves Week: $250
Daily Drop-In Rate - $60/day​


Tuition is due at the beginning of each week.


Challenger After-School Program 2017-2018​

We are very excited about what we have to offer our middle schoolers during the school year.  Your youth will face many new experiences and challenges and we want to be there to mentor and lo​ve them through this influential time.  If you haven't thought about enrolling your youth in the Challenger After School Program before, now's the time!  There are so many temptations and negative influences surrounding youth both in and outside of school.  The Challenger Program provides a positive environment for your youth to learn, grow and develop​ a sense of community.

We offer a flexible schedule, from 1-5 days a week.  We also offer transportation from Whitman and Hamilton Middle Schools.

Daily Schedule:

3:15-3:40 p.m.     Pickup and Arrival of Challengers from school

3:40-4:00 p.m.     Structured Free Time (Challengers have time to run off steam and socialize with each other and staff)

4:00-4:15 p.m.     Group Time (Challengers check in with staff and learn about the activity options for the day)

4:15-5:15 p.m.     Option Time (Challengers participate in a variety of activities of their choice - planned and facilitated by staff)

5:15-6:00 p.m.     Power Hour (Challengers participate in mandatory homework time with assistance from staff and volunteer tutors)

6:00-6:30 p.m.     Structured Free Time (Challengers participate in free time activities with staff)

**Schedule may differ due to potential school schedule changes.

Activities and Options for Challengers Each Week:

​Every day, Challengers are provided three options to choose from: one active, one creative, and one additional. Included in these daily options are a variety of mini-clubs. For further information, see below:​

Tuition/Billing:
​​4-5 days / week - $230/month
3 days / week - $175/month
2 days / week - $120/month         
1 day / week - $65/month

Transportation from Whitman & Hamilton - $35/month 

Tuition is due the 7th of each month.  If your youth comes additional days apart from their regular schedule, you will be charged for those extra dates at the end of the month. We are very flexible on schedules. Any changes in schedule need to be submitted via email to Jon Raduazzo no later than the 25th of each month. Charges are added to your account on the 25th of each month for the following month.  

Morning Drop-In Program 2017-2018​

In addition to our after school program, we offer a morning drop-in program focused on getting your child's feet moving and mind working before school begins.

Daily Schedule:

7:00 a.m.             Club opens and children are welcome to arrive
7:00-7:30 a.m.     Structured Free Time (Children have time to play games, work, read and socialize)
7:30-8:10​ p.m.     Option Time (Children will participate in a variety of activities of their choice - planned and facilitated by staff)
8:10 a.m.             Hamilton students gather to leave (arrive to school by 8:30)
8:15 a.m.             Whitman students gather to leave (arrive to school by 8:30)
8:25 a.m.             Salmon Bay students gather to leave (arrive to school by 8:30)
