We offer a before school program for Kindergarten-5th graders and after school programs for Kindergarten-3rd graders, as follows.
Morning Care Program (Grades K-5)
Each morning, children in K-5th grades get the opportunity to eat breakfast at the Boys & Girls Club, have fun playing pool or ping pong in our games room, prepare for the school day, run around in the gym, and engage in a programmed activity.
After School Program (Grades K-3)
Each day, the K-3rd graders enjoy free time outside, in the mat room or the gym, are provided with a nut-free snack, and participate in both Power Hour homework time and an activity based on a monthly theme.
We believe that children learn best in an environment that is supportive, fun and safe. Our staff encourage self-expression and active participation, which further the learning process and promote growth and self-esteem by teaching healthy values and life skills. Our child care areas of focus are:

Before School Care Full Time $270/month (5 days a week)
After School Care Full Time $365/month (5 days a week)
1-2 days a week AM $115/month / 1-2 days a week PM $160/month
3 days a week AM $160/month / 3 days a week PM $225/month
4-5 days a week AM $270/month / 4-5 days a week PM $365/month
Cancellation requires a 30-day written notice to Dena Harkovitch.
BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL ENROLLMENT INFO:
Step 1: Contact Dena Kindred to determine available space
Step 2: Current Boys & Girls Club Membership ($50 annual membership fee)
Step 3: Fill out the registration form, enrollment contract, and complete the immunization record. These forms can be picked up at the front desk of our Club, or e-mailed to you by the director upon request.
Step 4: Turn in all paperwork and $35 registration fee to the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club
Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club staff walk child care members to the bus stop each morning and wait as they get picked up by Mercer Island School District busses for Lakeridge, Island Park, and West Mercer Elementary Schools. Northwood students are walked over to school by a staff member.
West Mercer, Lakeridge, and Island Park students are transported by the Mercer Island School District busses, and Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club staff meet them at the bus stop and escort them into the building. A staff member will meet Northwood students who are coming to the Boys & Girls Club at the basketball hoops on the Northwood playground upon school dismissal and walk with them over to the Club.

When the Mercer Island Schools are closed for holidays, teacher conferences or other reasons, we open our doors and offer fun-filled day camps to keep your kids busy while you're at work. The fee is $50 per day. Camps run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and include either a field trip or theme-based programmed activities at the Club. Children should bring along a nut-free lunch from home.
The 2017-2018 school year day camp dates are: Nov. 10, Nov 20-22, Dec 18-22, Dec 26-29, Feb 15-16, Feb 20, April 9-13, and May 25.
Registration for these days will open on August 30, 2017. You may enroll your child online via our registration page or by contacting the director on or after August 30th for help registering your child. We can accomodate 30 students/day in the K-3rd grade age range and spots are filled on a first come, first served basis.
The Boys & Girls Club maintains a scholarship fund to assist families in need of a reduction in child care fees. Before applying for a scholarship, families must first apply with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) at www.dshs.wa.gov to attempt to qualify for state assistance, which would provide a subsidy to the Club. A DSHS denial letter must be submitted with any scholarship application.
