Boys & Girls Clubs of King County

85 percent of Club alumni said that Club staff helped them to know right from wrong, and 82 percent said that staff helped their self-confidence as a child

PARENTS

Every day after school and over the summer, your child has a safe, positive place to go, a place they feel welcome and feel like they belong—their local Boys & Girls Club.

With 13 full-service Clubs and 28 before- and after-school program and child care sites, we reach 30,000 youth annually. Each Boys & Girls Club location serves children 5–18 years old. Our Ballard and Kirkland sites also have preschool programs for kids 3–5 years old.

Staff

Our caring staff are trained to create a learning scenario out of every game, to nurture self-esteem in every exchange with a child, and to boost the confidence that can be so fleeting during adolescence.

The positive relationships our mentors build with children at the Club are a key element of our impact on youth.

Costs

The heart of every Boys & Girls Club is its drop-in program.  A membership to the Boys & Girls Club costs just pennies a day, and if a family can’t afford that we do everything we can to provide scholarships. Fees for other programming and summer camps vary, and scholarship opportunities are often available for families in need. Please contact your local Club to learn more about programs, costs, and scholarship availability.

Programs

Our nationally recognized programs and activities impact children in three essential ways: academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. A youth development strategy underlies all of our programs and fosters a sense of belonging, competence, and usefulness, and builds self-esteem and self-confidence among Club members.

Our programs vary from Club to Club, allowing each Club to create programs that are tailored to their specific communities and member demographics. Please call a Club near you to find out more about the programs offered there.

“85 percent of Club kids surveyed reported that spending time at the Club helped them make positive decisions in life, like staying out of trouble at home and school, saying no to things that are wrong, and attending class.”

“I could go to work and have no fears—I knew my child was in a safe and loving place. I’ll never let my kids forget about the Club because they taught them about so much more…they taught them about love and they taught them about integrity.”
