Join one of our many athletics programs to keep your youngsters moving through the year! The Ballard Boys & Girls Club offers a wide variety of sports leagues and camps throughout the year designed for beginner to intermediate players. You can request to play with friends or have us find a team for your child. We’re always looking for volunteer coaches, feel free to contact T.J. Parry if you’re interested in coaching your child or passionate about coaching in your community.

Winter 2019

Basketball

Join one of our winter basketball leagues designed for beginner to intermediate players. All games and practices will take place in the Ballard Boys & Girls Club gym. Teams will start the season with two weeks of practice at a set time selected by the coach. Following the practice weeks, teams will play games twice a week on two of the days listed below. Families will be contacted with team and league information.

Registration closes 12 /23. Practices start week of January 7-12. Season concludes week of March 18-23.

3rd Grade Boys
Days: Twice a week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays (1hr.)
Time: 4:30-8:30 p.m.

4th-5th Grade Boys 
Days: Twice a week – Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays (1hr.)
Time: M/T/TH (4:30-8:30 p.m.) & Sat. (12-5 p.m.)

4th-5th Grade Girls 
Days: Twice a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays (1hr.)
Time: T/TH (4:30-8:30 p.m.) & Sat. (9 a.m.-12 p.m.)

Buddy and coach requests can be submitted during registration process. Teams will be selected by Athletics Director based on requests, school age, and other factors. Requests are not guaranteed to be fulfilled. All registered players will be assigned to a team. No tryouts. Each player will receive a jersey. Volunteer coaches needed. Team sponsors welcome.

Spring 2019

Tee Ball

Tee Ball with the Ballard Boys & Girls Club is a great place to get your youngster started with baseball! Our Tee Ball league focuses on fun, fundamentals, and sportsmanship. Open to all genders. All players receive a ball cap and jersey.

Ages: Pre-K – 1st grade (co-ed)
Days & Times: Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays – Twice a week / 1hr. (4 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)

Flag Rugby

Atavus Rugby has developed a youth curriculum full of games and skills inspired by rugby, leveraging the sport’s positive qualities to focus on multiple aspects of your child’s physical development and personal growth. Games such as ultimate rugby and capture the flag will be partnered with drills to allow players to expand on a variety of skills including catch-pass ability, leadership, evasion, decision-making, and confidence in contact all while having fun through play. This program requires no experience in rugby and the skills learned during our programming can be applied to other sports! Players will all receive a variety of Atavus Rugby gear including a camp t-shirt and wristband.

Happy Feet Soccer

Run by Seattle HappyFeet

Location: Ballard BGC Field
Ages: 3-6Day & Time: Saturdays (1hr. between 9 a.m.-12 p.m.)
Dates: April 6 – June 8 (off 5/25)

Girls Volleyball

The Ballard Boys & Girls Club is excited to offer a Spring Volleyball league! Register your daughter with friends or as a free agent…we’ll place them on a team! This is a great program for beginner and intermediate players. Teams will have either practices or games two times a week. Mondays & Wednesdays at the Ballard Boys & Girls Club gym. Teams will play up to 10 games with as many as 6 practices during the season. Season concludes with a league tournament the last week of the session.

Ages: 3rd-5th Grade
Days & Time: Mondays & Wednesdays (5:30-8 p.m.)​​​ 1 hr each day game or practice
Dates: April 1 – June 7 (off 4/8 – 4/12, 5/27)

Cheerleading

Be a part of the Ballard Boys & Girls Club beginning-to-intermediate level cheer squad!  You’ll learn dances, cheers, and beginning tumbling.  There will be opportunities to perform too.  Dream Team has performed at halftime for the Seattle Storm and University of Washington basketball games, and numerous community events.  Previous experience is not required—contact instructor with questions. Cheer classes are run by Eastside Dream Elite Cheer& Dance, www.EastsideDreamElite.com.  Participants may incur extra costs for uniforms, equipment, or events if they wish to participate in any performances.
