Summer Field Day 2019
More than 800 kids and volunteers across greater Seattle showed up to Husky Stadium on July 10 for a day of outdoor fun and lessons in leading an active lifestyle!
The surprise July rain wasn’t enough to slow these Seattle kids down — they were too excited about the many activities they got to play including soccer, golf, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, rugby, volleyball, karate, parkour, yoga, and football!
Summer Field Day is an annual tradition of fun, community, and healthy living. Sports and games are great outlets for kids to get regular exercise and practice valuable social skills. By trying a bunch of different sports, kids are likely to find one that they really enjoy and want to continue.
During lunch, former Club kid and current NBA superstar Jamal Crawford came to talk to the kids. He shared: “it’s important to stay healthy, and playing sports is a great way to do that.”
This fun summer event is also a rare opportunity for Club kids from across our organization to meet and play together. It’s truly remarkable to see so many Club kids in one place!
Huge thanks to our partners and sponsors who made this day possible.
UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Washington is proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of King County Summer Field Day for the 4th consecutive year. It is a fantastic way for young people to cultivate healthy habits that will benefit their physical and mental health over their lifetime!
