Kids Auction 2020 FAQs

What will this year's event look like?

In light of COVID-19, there's still a lot of uncertainty around what Kids Auction 2020 will entail. What we know for sure is that the program will be available virtually, free of cost, to anyone with the event link! That means you don’t have to be in the Seattle area, or even Washington, to join the fun. There may also be opportunities to participate in small, in-person gatherings, if it is safe and responsible to do so. Register today to receive updates on event information and ticket options!

How is this event important to the organization's work?

At Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, we believe our whole community benefits when all youth can reach their full potential. With generous community support, this annual fundraiser makes quality programming, new opportunities, and powerful mentorship available to approximately 2,000 kids and teens per day in the greater Seattle area. Additionally, Kids Auction is a powerful source of funding for scholarships. This year, your support will allow us to distribute $1.1 million in financial aid to Club families for program, athletic, and summer camp fees.

Will there be meal and beverage options available?

Yes! We will be partnering with local businesses to offer specially curated meal and beverage kits, so you can take a night off of cooking to join the party! Join our email list for the latest details on meal and beverage kit options.

What is a Kids Auction viewing party?

While we won't be hosting a ballroom full of people this year, we encourage community members to throw their own Kids Auction-themed parties (providing it is safe and responsible to do so)! Please consider inviting family, friends, and/or colleagues to get dressed up and join you for the gala livestream. We will be sharing more resources for party hosts, as well as meal and beverage kits options, in the very near future. Join our email list to ensure you receive the latest updates!

How can I host a Kids Auction viewing party?

In the spirit of celebrating creativity, your Kids Auction viewing party can be whatever you choose! Invite as many guests as you like, pick a fun, inspiring theme, and come together in support of Club kids and teens. We’ll be sharing more resources soon to help you throw a successful party, including catered meal and beverage options. Join our email list for updates!

What about the funds you usually raise through ticket sales?

While we will be offering some paid ticket options that include meals and beverages, it is free to participate in this year’s event. In light of this, our revenue from ticket sales will be significantly lower. If you are able to make a pre-event gift to help meet the pressing needs of Club kids and families today, we would really appreciate it! Click here to make a gift now.

If I can't participate in the event, how can I make a gift to support it?

Thank you! We appreciate your partnership. You can make your secure gift online here.
