Boys & Girls Clubs of King County Receiving Nourishing Neighbors Donations
Made possible by local Safeway and Albertsons stores
Seattle – As a selected charity partner, for Safeway and Albertsons annual Nourishing Neighbors campaign, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County will receive donations to support every child having access to a healthy breakfast. All donations made at select Seattle, Redmond, Renton, Kirkland, Federal Way, and Sammamish Safeway and Albertsons stores will be used to help provide healthy snacks and meals to youth at Clubs.
“We know healthy meals and snacks positively affect a child’s ability to learn, grow, and thrive. We’re thrilled to be a charitable partner of Safeway and Albertsons and the Nourishing Neighbors campaign,” said chief development officer, Jayme Hommer.
Boys & Girls Clubs of King County offers life-changing programs and services to more than 1,900 youth throughout the greater Seattle area each day. Clubs continue doing whatever it takes, offering extended full-day and half-day programming during remote learning due to the pandemic.
“Breakfast is an essential school supply for kids to learn, grow, and thrive,” said Karl Schroeder, President of the Safeway-Albertsons Seattle Division. “It’s an honor to support the work of Boys & Girls Clubs of King County. We are privileged to serve the community alongside organizations that work tirelessly to make our neighborhoods better places to live and work.”
Anyone wishing to support the Clubs through this program can go to any of the Safeway-Albertsons locations referred to above and donate to the Nourishing Neighbors program at checkout through September 30.
