Youth of the Year 2022 Recap On Saturday, February 12, 2022, more than 150 Boys & Girls Clubs community members came together – both in person and virtually – to recognize and celebrate the 6 outstanding Youth of the Year candidates from around the county. This year’s candidates were Ellie from Kirkland, Halen from Mercer Island, Logan from North Seattle, Valeria from Rotary, Mario from Smilow Rainier Vista, and Kevin from Wallingford. Overview The Club's youth development program, or "Drop-in," has been serving families for over 70 years, providing a safe and positive place for kids ages 5 to 18 to go after school and during non-school days. Participants can expect a daily schedule that includes unstructured and structured gym games, homework help, a snack, quiet time, small-group activities, activities in the computer lab, arts & crafts, and free time.
