Federal Way Breakfast for Kids Recap

FWBK 2019 room

On September 17, Federal Way community leaders attended a breakfast at the Ron Sandwith Teen Center to celebrate and raise support for young people in Federal Way.

At the event, we heard from our new CEO Laurie Black, 2018 Federal Way Youth of the Year winner Jaylen, and NHL Seattle’s president Tod Leiweke as this year’s keynote speaker.

What’s even more exciting is that attendees helped raise $40,500 for Club kids and teens in Federal Way at the event!

With those funds, the Ron Sandiwth Teen Center and the Federal Way Club will be able to improve programs and serve more kids.

At the breakfast, Jaylen spoke eloquently about his Club experience and plans for the future. When Tod Leiweke took the stage, he was so moved by Jaylen’s story that he offered him a summer internship for next year.

It’s community members like Tod Leiweke that help make our Clubs such a special place full of unmatched opportunities for young people.
