Interning with the Seattle Seahawks
Through YouthForce’s TeamWork Internship Program, teens sharpen their professional skills at the home of the Seahawks. As Seahawks Suite Runners, the paid interns work from 5:45 AM until 2 PM on game days providing meals, drinks, and smiles to Seahawks fans.
Teens gain hospitality skills such as customer service, multitasking, teamwork, and effective communication while working alongside more experienced mentors.
TeamWork Interns Fathima and Ebonyé share about their experiences at CenturyLink:
This is Fathima’s first job and, through this internship, Fathima has “learned about customer service…and [to treat] customers and [co-workers] with respect.” She also appreciates that it’s a unique experience and “not many people can say they were a suite runner for the Seahawks.”
Ebonyé was originally hired into a support role for the Sounders as an intern, but did so well that she was promoted to a leadership position for the Seahawks to train and support other interns in the program. In her experience as a suite runner, Ebonyé has learned “time management, patience, and being able to vibe really well with other people.” Ebonye’ likes her new leadership role because “helping other people out has always made [her] feel good.”
Thank you to the Seattle Seahawks and First & Goal, Inc. for creating powerful internship opportunities for our young people!
