Kids Auction 2019 Recap

Fantastic floral fundraising!

The Hyatt Regency in Downtown Seattle was transformed into a vibrant secret garden on Saturday, October 12, 2019.

Paper flowers, hedge walls, and assorted greenery brought this year’s theme to life. Guests added their own decorative flair, sporting botanical attire and festive flower crowns. The “Secret Garden” motif highlighted the Club’s healthy lifestyle programs, through which members grow their own food, learn about nutrition, and develop habits for mental and physical wellness.

Over 700 guests joined in the fun. Attendees bid on hundreds of auction items, heard from alumnus Justin about how the Club changed his life, and enjoyed the opportunity to empower young people with a personally significant gift. Following the program, guests, staff, and volunteers continued the celebration on the dance floor.

Justin Cox, a former Southwest Club member, 2007 Youth of the Year, and current Boys & Girls Clubs of King County donor, delivered a moving speech about his personal experience growing up at the Club.
