Three cheers for the Kirkland kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders! After months of reading side by side every Wednesday, the Reading Buddies members earned a Root Beer Float Party!

In an effort to nurture reading engagement and skills in younger Club members, the Kirkland Club began a weekly reading club in September called Reading Buddies. Each week, members would pair up and read parts of their favorite books to each other.
Using a giant poster of a gumball machine to track their progress, members finally filled up the chart this past week and won a super fun prize – a root beer float party!

We congratulate the Reading Buddies members on their success and hope this program has helped to foster a long-term love of reading!
