New Club Services in Tukwila

In late 2018, Tukwila School District approached Boys & Girls Clubs of King County about partnering to provide more youth development opportunities for the local community.

Now, with funding through the national 21st Century Community Learning Centers Fund, we offer new services at Cascade View, Tukwila, and Thorndyke Elementary Schools.

Tukwila is a highly diverse community with a large immigrant and refugee population. Its citizens hail from over 50 nations and speak over 80 different languages. Families have a high demand for after-school programs, and we’re delighted to fill that gap.

The Clubs focus on our Power Hour homework support, exciting STEM activities, and our experience-based social-emotional skill building activities. These three new sites opened in October 2019 for school-year programs, and they will be in place for at least five years.
