Congratulations to our Youth of the Year, Hazel!
Hazel is a fifth grader who has demonstrated outstanding compassion, leadership, creativity, and optimism at the Salmon Bay Boys & Girls Club. Hazel encourages her friends to be their best selves, and never hesitates to ask “How can I help?”. As a fifth grader, Hazel will be graduating from our program this school year, and she will be missed! Thank you Hazel for being a great role model for your peers!
Pictured here, Hazel receives her Youth of the Year award at the Salmon Bay Boys & Girls Club at our annual award ceremony.
As our Youth of the Year, Hazel was able to participate and be honored at the county-wide Youth of the Year, Jr. celebration breakfast at the Smilow Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club on May 19, 2018. The Boys & Girls Clubs holds a Youth of the Year celebration for teens, which Hazel will be eligible for next year.

Hazel receives recognition and her award from Program Services and Training Director, Quincy Roberton.

This year, each Youth of the Year, Junior received a trophy and a stuffed bear from Build-A-Bear workshop.
