Please consider helping kids like Tré who grow up and become alums that help more Club kids.
Club experiences have positive, lasting effects on kids and teens over generations. Staff member Meghan mentored Club alum Tré, who is now a stable, supportive, and trusted mentor for dozens of other Club teens.
As a kid, Tré needed to navigate an unstable, and sometimes confusing, world. Meghan Sweet, the Wallingford Club Director and now Area Director, worked behind the scenes to make sure Tré found stability and consistency at the Club. As he got older, she encouraged him to try new activities, make new friends, and explore unfamiliar spaces.
His favorite program as a Club kid was Torch Club, a middle school community service group. With Torch Club, Tré felt the powerful impact of giving back and helping others. That spark to support others still motivates and inspires him.
Through the Club and his mentor Meghan, Tré nurtured his passion for community engagement and youth development. As an adult, Tré is the Teen Director at the Wallingford Club. There, Tré is a stable, consistent, supportive, and trusted mentor for dozens of teens who walk through the doors, just like Meghan was for him years ago.
Teens like hanging out with Tré, and the feeling is mutual. Every weeknight, Tré hosts a dinner for the Club teens. He creates programming based on the teens’ interests, and he instills in them the same passion for community service that he gained as a Club kid.
