What is GiveBIG?

GiveBIG is an online giving event to raise funds for nonprofit organizations serving Greater Seattle. On Wednesday, May 8, 2019 we invite you, your friends, and neighbors to give generously to organizations who are making a difference in our communities.

We encourage you to donate to your favorite organization or discover a new one! Help Seattle area organizations continue to make a difference for our community.

Why GiveBIG?

Every day, Boys & Girls Clubs of King County opens their doors to more than 2,000 kids and teens. We are a safe, affordable, and fun place for kids and teens during the out-of-school time hours. We offer before school, after school, summer, and athletics programs, as well as leadership and service opportunities for teens throughout the year.

Our Clubs serve thousands of kids and families every year who are in need of financial assistance. Through the generosity of our community, we are able to provide reduced fees and scholarships to those in need. Funds raised from GiveBIG will be used to provide access to excellent, affordable programming designed to keep kids active and intellectually challenged throughout the year.

I GiveBIG to the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club where I have served on the board for many years. There are so many reasons I do this. Our Club offers kids and teens who need it most a safe place where they can play sports, get a warm meal, have help with their homework, get mentorship, and so much more.

As a transplant who now calls the Puget Sound my home, I see Boys & Girls Clubs as a critical backbone / “conduit” which acts to support and bridge the next generation of our rapidly diversifying communities. By GIVING BIG, I can provide safe and positive places where the next generation of our community feels welcome, comes to learn, play and most importantly grow together.
