Pathways to Careers (PTC)
Work readiness through Youth development
SE Network provides a tiered approach to work readiness through a comprehensive youth development program consisting of paid opportunities.
Job Readiness Workshops: Youth and young adults develop basic work skills, develop resumes, learn about career paths, etc.
Teen Café Program: A cohort of youth work in the Teen Café at Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club where they develop a menu, prepare food and drinks, take orders, handle monetary transactions, and serve.
Career Launch Program: Rising 9th graders participate in a multi-week program that focuses on developing basic work skills, exploring careers, setting goals and learning about money management.
Interest-based Programs: SE Network provides a variety of programs that reflect the current interests of participants. Previous programs have included art, custom kicks, and cooking.
Work, Learn, Earn Program: Rising middle schoolers participate in structured summer programming that introduces them to entrepreneurship, investments and the stock market, money management, and the world of work.  With hands-on opportunities that offer a glimpse into the real world, youth learn valuable lessons that will serve them for life. They also keep their academic skills sharp and avoid the learning loss that typically occurs during the extended school break.
Individual Internships: Through a partnership with our YouthForce career readiness program, teens and young adults can take part in individualized internships, both within and outside the Boys & Girls Clubs. By doing so, they gain valuable work experience that boosts their employability and informs their career choices.
